Estate Planning

Estate planning is my passion. Whether you have a modest amount of assets or a large amount of assets, I am here to help you. Every single estate plan I work on is individually tailored and unique. Estate planning is perhaps one of the most important things a person can do to ensure they are protected against whatever may come up during their life and what comes after.

It is extremely important for anyone with minor children to have an estate plan. Even having a basic estate plan will ensure that should something happen to a person, their children will be taken care of by the persons of their choice and that their children will have financial support while they are still minors.

As we grow older, it is vital to have estate planning done. A proper estate plan will help a person maintain the highest standard of living for the rest of their life, allow them to have their wishes honored if they become unable to make decisions for themself or take care of themself, will allow them to ensure their assets will be distributed how they want, and will help keep their legacy going.

Scroll below to see some of the areas of estate planning I can help you out with.

Wills

Wills are the foundation of every estate plan. Wills state who will receive a person's assets after they die, who should take care of a deceased person's minor children, and many other important topics.

Advance Directives

Advance Directives allow people to state their wishes regarding medical treatment should they become incapacitated or unable to make decisions for themselves.

Charitable Giving

Many people want to donate some or all of their assets to charity upon their death. Charitable planning allows people to help build their legacy.

Trusts

Trusts allow people to potentially avoid probate after their death and can also be used to ensure that future generations and those who cannot provide for themselves will be taken care of.

Transfer on Death Deeds

Transfer on death deeds allow a person, upon their death, to give their home to someone else without needing to go through the probate process.

Estate Tax Planning

Anyone with over $1 million in assets may be subject to both state and federal estate taxes after their death. Careful tax planning can possibly reduce or eliminate the amount of estate taxes that will need to be paid.

Power of Attorney

Power of attorneys allow a person to designate another person to handle their affairs while they are alive. This is an extremely useful estate planning tool for people who are ageing or who have health problems.

Beneficiary Designations

Beneficiary designations allow someone, upon their death, to have their bank accounts, insurance policies, retirement accounts, and other assets transfer to someone else. Careful use of beneficiary designations allow assets to be passed on quickly and easily after the death of the owner.
